Understanding International Coaching Federation (ICF) Coaching Levels
A coach who is in the early stages of learning coaching skills, often in training or certification programs. They are developing foundational coaching techniques and competencies.
A coach who has demonstrated a foundational level of competency, typically requiring at least 60 hours of coach-specific training and 100 hours of coaching experience.
A coach who has reached a more advanced level, requiring at least 125 hours of coach-specific training and 500 hours of coaching experience. Coaches at this level demonstrate strong competency in core coaching skills.
The highest certification level, requiring at least 200 hours of coach-specific training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience. MCC-level coaches exhibit deep mastery of coaching competencies and a highly refined coaching presence.
